At the dress rehearsal, principal photographer Brian Davies covered the actual dance sets live plus posed group shots on stage and at the same time Mary was using studio lights and backgrounds set up in the bar area to photograph individual dancers or small groups in costume. All the shots were printed and ready for sale by the time of the first show Saturday afternoon. MAD Photography stayed set up all Saturday and Sunday and also took posed shots of the younger dancers who hadn’t attended the Friday dress rehearsal.

The photos proved a real hit with the dancers and families… and in addition they photos are now available to view online via www.madphotography.co.uk to those who have the password.

Last week MAD Photography also attended an awards ceremony for Network Rail in Coventry. Every participant was photographed receiving their certificate and the prints were available within 20 minutes.

As far as the personal shoot for a loved one is concerned the style of the photographs is entirely down to you. Brian from MAD Photography will discuss with you the look that you are trying to achieve and suggest the outfits that would suit, the backgrounds that would work and which of the numerous props in the studio would be best utilised.

The standard Calendar shoot could last around 3 hours and use maybe a dozen different outfits… some of which could be themed… such as Valentines.. or April Showers, Halloween and of course Christmas… but there are many other ideas. Once MAD Photography have done the shoot, Brian will edit the photos and invite you back to look and select the images you want to use. You can have between 1 and 3 images on each page. You would also receive a set of Contact sheets with thumbnails on to keep. The Calendar is A4 size and if just 1 image was used the image size if in landscape format would be 8″x6″ (20cmsx15cms). Brian would then produce the 12 page Calendar plus front cover shot on Quality Photographic paper … all for just £135 which is a bargain taking into account the time involved in the whole operation, the quality of the actual Calendar and the fact that at the end of the year you still have the photos from the Calendar to keep.

There is a slightly cheaper alternative available, where the length of the photoshoot is slimmed down to around 2 hours, no contact sheets are produced and only 1 photo is placed on each page… and the cost would be just £100.

MAD Photography have been asked several times in the last few weeks about doing Calendar shoots and NOW is the time to be booking before we get too close to Christmas.

There are a number of companies who can produce personal Calendars at a very reasonable price, but these are from your own photographs which you own the copyright to and do not include the actual photoshoot and usually the paper the calendar is printed on is not as thick or as good a quality.

Debenhams reported  that their sales increased 4.5% for the year, with profits up for the third year running to £166.1m.
